Guru Jee also collected the hymns of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Jee which had no particular script, Guru Jee used Sri Guru Nanak Dev Jee’s hymns to create a new script called Gurmukhi (from the mouth of the Guru) ) the written form of the Panjabi language. Guru Jee gave the common people this language as it is simple to learn and write. The Guru's wife, Mata Khivi Jee personally worked in the kitchen. She also served food to the members of the community and the visitors. He provided opportunities to underprivileged sections of the society to maintain good health. He encouraged all people to be involved in wrestling bouts or Mal Akharas to compete in physical competitions. This was again his way of doing away with social taboos of people of lower caste not having physical contact with higher castes.
