C ONTACT WITH S PANISH E XPLORERS Inca Empire ended w/ Spanish conquest in 1532 Spanish used Inca storehouses The food and other supplies lasted 20 years! Explorers and soldiers came for fame & riches Pizarro ( spanish explorer) went to Inca Empire to rule When he got there it was empty He told his army of 160 men to hide in empty houses Pizarro captured the Inca ruler Inca ruler promised to put gold and silver in a jail cell if Pizarro let him free Pizarro agreed to that. After months of gold and silver Pizarro did not keep his promise. They killed him The Inca who survived had to work on farms for the Spanish 5
