Southern Regional Education Board CCTI HSTW CCTI - Atlanta States will know they have an effective system when: 1.Most high school graduates complete a core set of the academic courses that are most predictive for success in college and careers.

Southern Regional Education Board CCTI HSTW CCTI - Atlanta States will know they have an effective system when: 2.All community colleges agree on English, reading and mathematics standards that signify readiness for college.

Southern Regional Education Board CCTI HSTW CCTI - Atlanta States will know they have an effective system when: 3.High school and college faculty work together to align and merge postsecondary readiness standards into the high school curriculum.

Southern Regional Education Board CCTI HSTW CCTI - Atlanta States will know they have an effective system when: 4.States make postsecondary readiness standards a part of statewide high school assessment so that students will know before the senior year their readiness status and about the increasing value of the 12 th grade in college preparation.

Southern Regional Education Board CCTI HSTW CCTI - Atlanta States will know they have an effective system when: 5.Students who are not ready have access during the senior year to specially developed mathematics and reading/language arts courses aimed at getting them ready for studies at a community college.

Southern Regional Education Board CCTI HSTW CCTI - Atlanta States will know they have an effective system when: 6.There is a system that informs students and parents about the pathway of academic and career studies in high school that will give students an advantage in postsecondary studies and in a career.

Southern Regional Education Board CCTI HSTW CCTI - Atlanta States will know they have an effective system when: 7.Students pursuing career/technical studies in high school have access to high school career/technical courses that are aligned to postsecondary studies and have end-of-course exams or program assessment that, if passed by students, can result in postsecondary credit if the student has already met other conditions for enrollment into credit-bearing courses.

Southern Regional Education Board CCTI HSTW CCTI - Atlanta States will know they have an effective system when: 8.Seniors meeting readiness standards for college are given access to quality college- preparatory studies that allow them to get a jump start on postsecondary studies.

Southern Regional Education Board CCTI HSTW CCTI - Atlanta States will know they have an effective system when: 9.Community colleges have a parallel commitment to the successful completion of degrees and certificates as they presently have to provide access to postsecondary studies. An emphasis on completion must represent a significant change of priority.

Southern Regional Education Board CCTI HSTW CCTI - Atlanta States will know they have an effective system when: 10.Postsecondary institutions have a system of streamlining the transition from one institution to another without penalizing the students for taking excessive amounts of additional coursework.
