Milestones Achieved Aug-09 - Junior doctor, Graham Hay-Smith, goes through Jnr Dr rotation and complains to Ruth Carnall, CEO, NHS London Dec-09 - Deborah O’Dea presents to HR for London Meeting who agree important changes need to be made urgently Early 10 – A group of volunteer HRDs and Deputies meet regularly to dig deeper and scope out the work Early 10 - After early resistance, ESR agree to join project Jul-10 – Produce 1 st PID, to improve patient safety, potential savings identified of £1.3m and improve morale of staff. Nov-10 – DWP authorise Deanery to hold National Insurance numbers Early 11 – ESR accept enhancement requests to develop ESR/Deanery Interface and Pre-employment IAT Jun-11 – 1 st data moving between Trusts at Conditional Offer stage, via ESRs Pre-Emp IAT Jun-11 – Project wins HPMA Award for innovative use of ESR Aug-11 – 1 st data moving between Deanery and Trusts via Empower/ESR interface Aug-11 – 1 st workgroup with UCLP Trusts Oct-11 – New PID identifying £40m+ of potential savings signed off. NHS London fund dedicated Programme team. Oct-11 – WIRED Compliance Reporting Tool, developed by West Middlesex Trust purchased by Skills for Health for wider roll out Nov-11 – Skills for Health launch national Core Skills Training Framework for London Trusts to pilot Jan-12 – London Trusts signed MOU to participate in London wide change programme Mar-12 – 1 st London wide StatMan Seminar to launch 5 point plan Oct-12 – 1 st London wide Recruitment Managers Seminar to start rewrite of NHS Employers Employment Check Standards Apr-13 – new PID identifying £140m+ of potential savings signed off. NHS London legacy funding provided Spring-13 – Numerous workgroups happening every week Jul-13 – New NHS Employers Employment Check Standards launched Dec-13 – 2 nd Annual StatMan Seminar acknowledges £13m of staff time is being saved p.a. and compliance up from 58% to 75% Jan-14 – HR Directors provide rave reviews through Video and written case studies Apr-14 – New Programme, owned & funded by HR Directors of 36 London Trusts called Streamlining Programme Apr-14 – Word spreads generating national interest in the work Summer 14 – Programmes set up in West Midlands, East Midlands and other regions looking to do the same Oct-14 – Programme rebrands to Streamlining London and continues to lead the way Oct-14 – 2 nd Annual Recruitment Managers Seminar with Awards for Best Practice Dec-14 – Launched process to upload training data into ESR after 3 years of lobbying Dec-14 – 3 rd Annual StatMan Seminar announcing a further 21% staff time saving worth over £5m and 80% Compliance Jan-15 – Over 50% of London Trusts now using Factual References and ‘time to clear’ reducing rapidly from 6-8wks down to 2 wks
