Non-fiction print and digital books Print and digital newspapers Print and digital magazines Reliable databases Citation Tools YOUR TARGETS: You will be able to conduct short and prolonged research projects by using and properly citing reliable print and digital resources in an effort to solve a problem and/or answer a question, specifically on the topic of careers.

Recognizing Reliable Sources: How do you know if these sources are reliable? Using Reliable Sources: How Do You Know? – Give it the CRAAP Test Currency: The timeliness of the web page. Relevance/Coverage: The uniqueness of the content and its importance for your needs. Authority: The source of the web page. Accuracy: The reliability, truthfulness, and correctness of the informational content. Purpose: The presence of bias or prejudice/The reason the web site exists. AND you can check the library website, where we have gathered up several for you!

Currency: Check the bottom of the site for a date. Don’t use old info! Relevance: Do you need the info to support YOUR paper?

Accuracy: Cross reference the info with another source/ compare it with another site to fact check.

Authority: Look for an author and his/her credentials. Why should they report on the subject?

Purpose: Why is the site posted? To persuade? Sell? Educate? Look for “About” or “Mission”
