CHARUSAT CLOUD PROJECT

Phases 1.Hardware Commissioning 2.Implementing Cluster 3.Implementing VMware 4.Migration of campus servers to cloud…..

1- Hardware Commissioning HP C7000 Blade Centre housing 7 Blades & each Blade comprising : 2 No of Xeon Hexacore (2.66 Ghz) CPU 48 GB ECC RAM 300 GB Internal Harddisk ……. All these linked with HP SAN Box(Storage Area Network) with the capacity 20 TB Also …….  Six redundant power supply  Redundant backbone fiber controller card  Redundant IO controller  LTO-5 Auto loader for the Data backup  10 KVA Online UPS with 5 hours of Battery backup

2- Implementation of Cluster Other Salient Features : High Availability Highest Redundancy Dynamic Resource Scheduling (DRS) Concept.. For best utilization of these state-of-the-art Hardware facility, at WINCell, we have implemented Cluster of 7 Blades. Here we are merging the highest level power of each Blade into one central unit (Cluster) which has now the central power of 14 Processors (221 Ghz) and 335 GB RAM

Concept VMware implies the resources virtualization 3-Implementation of VMware With major concerns of Global-warming and Echo friendly environment VMware is designed to provide multiple Server Applications on a single physical Blade server. This will help save : Electricity Cooling Facilities (AC) Battery Backup (UPS) Physical space Man power Management constraints. Hardware Cost, etc..

Implementation VMware Commissioning … With available 7 Blades, we have already created 38 Virtual Servers of different Institutes and departments through VMware. Considering future requirements such 30 to 40 more virtual servers can be configured with current setup.

Process… Cloud means …. To utilize others IT resources and infrastructure for your IT requirements. 4-Migration of campus servers to cloud….. At campus we have implemented both Private and Public Ready cloud : All Institutes and departmental level server applications and campus e- governance facilities are being migrated to central cloud ready environment at WINCell through Private cloud All these IT setup is managed through VCenter application at WINCell. Other Moti27 organizations like Matrusanstha located at Piplag, Kelavani Mandal located at Anand and Hostel located at Vidhyanagar are centrally connected through Public cloud and hence their server level applications and other IT requirements are facilitated centrally.
