L ATIN A MERICA LOCATION : The region of Latin America stretches from Mexico in the Northern Hemisphere to Argentina in the Southern Hemisphere.

M AP IT … All the countries of Central & South America. All the Capital cities of Central & South America The Pacific Ocean The Atlantic Ocean The Caribbean Sea The Gulf of Mexico The Panama Canal The Pampas The Amazon River The Amazon Rain Forest The Strait of Magellan The Andes Mountains The Brazilian Highlands Atacama Desert

G EOGRAPHY IMPACTS CULTURE. The Pampas are fertile South American lowlands. From the Quechua Indian language it literally means “plains”. Gauchos are Argentinean cowboys who herd cattle.

L ATIN A MERICA The region of Latin America is defined by the influence of Spanish & Portuguese culture (Imperialism). Latin is the root of both the Spanish & Portuguese languages. In addition to language, the region is heavily influenced by the Roman Catholic religion.
