Winning Interviews Tips for acing the interview and getting the job offer! Authored by Mr. Chuck Reece

Why am I so nervous? What is the worst that can happen?

Before the interview Know something about the company  What do they make?  Who are their customers/clientele? Have they been in the news recently? What are current industry trends?

Preparation Reduces Anxiety We just want to “get to know you” Why do you want to work for us? What are your plans for the future? Fit and compatibility Strengths and weaknesses? Give us details and examples! What about the technical stuff?

What shall I wear?  Conservative suit  Fits well  Comfortable  Minimal makeup or jewelry  No perfume or cologne

What to bring? Resume Leather portfolio/pen List of questions to ask

First impressions count Firm hand shake! Call the interviewer by name – build rapport Two Minute Drill

Confidence vs. Arrogance Cite examples of your success Never be negative or critical of past employers Avoid personal problems (family, finances, failures)

What now? After the interview, thank the interviewer and express your interest (if you are!) Send a thank you letter or “Don’t call us, we’ll call you” Research your next interview
