Individualized Education Program (IEP) Ms. Boldt

Individualized Education Program (IEP) An Individualized Education Program (IEP) is a document that illustrates the goals that a school and you have for your child that has a disability.

Members if the IEP team You the parent of the child that has the disability At least one regular education teacher At least one special education teacher Representative of the local educational agency At least one person who can explain the evaluation If wanted by you or other people involved with the education of your child a person who has knowledge or special expertise regarding your child Your child should be present if feasible

(IEP) Should Accomplish Serves as a communication tool between you as the parent and the teacher and other people who work with your child Provides an opportunity to resolve any differences that you have with the school Put in writing the resources necessary for your child education Is a tool that ensures that your child get the services appropriate for their disability A document that monitored and makes sure that your child’s services are complied with It is used as an evaluation tool to determining the progress that your child is making or if there needs to be changes to make progress

(IEP) Should Accomplish It enable your child to be involved in appropriate activities States how your child’s disability affects their education Required that yearly, measurable academic and functional goals be review to make sure that your child is progressing the goals stated States that aids and serves that your child requires Requires the team to include positive strategies and support for you and your child Explains of what your child will participate in and what they will have modifies when it come to in and out of class room education Has the regular teacher as a member if the team State how you will be informed of your child’s progress Allow the school to use Individual With Disability Act funds to educate your child
