Women from Underrepresented Groups “Underrepresented minority women (URM) faculty are almost nonexistent in science and engineering departments at research universities…..URM women are less likely than white women or men of any racial group to be full professors and to be awarded tenure.” –A National Analysis of Diversity in Science and Engineering Faculties at Research Universities by Donna Nelson and Diana Rogers, 2004.
