Progressive Counseling Services, Inc. is a private, for-profit outpatient based mental health company that provides therapeutic counseling to individuals and families struggling with Mental Health and Substance Abuse issues. Our staff consist of licensed Mental Health Practitioners, Master's Level Behavioral Clinicians, and highly qualified paraprofessionals. Our Services are accredited by CARF International, which is the largest accrediting body for Mental health and substance abuse services. About us

EVALUATION / ASSESSMENT PROGRESSIVE CONSUMER COUNSELING SERVICES, LLC offers assessments in the following areas: a. Psychosocial assessment/evaluation b. Alcohol and Other Drugs use assessment/evaluation c. Mental/Behavioral health assessment/evaluation d. Assessment/evaluation for dual diagnoses Assessments are used to identify the following in a manner that is respectful and considerate of that client: a. The individual's present functioning level; b. The individual's strengths, abilities, developmental needs, assistive technology or resource(s) needed, treatment needs, personal preferences for treatment, services to be provided, and desired outcomes; c. Any conditions that impede the individual's functioning; and, d. Where possible, the cause of the issue(s)/disability. TREATMENT PLAN DEVELOPMENT PROGRESSIVE CONSUMER COUNSELING SERVICES, LLC utilizes an interdisciplinary team approach in the development and implementation of Individual Treatment Plans. [Various funding sources may utilize other terminology for this interdisciplinary process.] This team process in developing the Individualized Treatment Plan involves the individual being served, the counselor, the individual's legal guardian/family or significant other(s) if appropriate, the physician, and any other personnel who may have a significant impact on the needs of the individual. You have the right to be provided with a copy of your Treatment Plan. You may obtain a copy of your Treatment Plan by requesting one from your therapist *Please note this staff member is not your assigned therapist* Step Two: Assessment- Assessor is responsible for completing initial assessment to gather demographical In most cases the assessor will assist the family in creating an initial treatment plan But plan can change once client has been evaluated by other clinical staff.

Step Three: Psychological Evaluation Some individuals will ask what is the purpose of a psychological evaluation? The Purpose of the psychological evaluation is to have psychologist complete their in-depth testing to verify any diagnosis that our assessor has developed during initial assessment. It is the mental equivalent of a physical examination. The purpose behind modern psychological evaluation is to try and pinpoint what is happening in someone's psychological life that may be inhibiting their ability to behave or feel in more appropriate or constructive way. Psychological evaluations also assist with helping our clinicians create a better treatment plan As a mental health provider, we are required by state laws to have our diagnostic impressions verified by Licensed Clinical social workers, Psychologist, or Psychiatrist. * Please note this staff member is not your assigned therapist*

Step Four: Psychiatric Evaluation (If needed) a. The Licensed physician will provide Psychotherapeutic services with medical evaluation and management including evaluation and assessment of physiological phenomena (including co-morbidity between behavioral and physical health care issues); b. Assessment and monitoring of an individual's status in relation to treatment with medication, c. Assessment of the appropriateness of initiating or continuing services d. If deemed necessary psychotropic medication will be prescribed. Step Five Continued: Nursing Assessment (If needed) A Registered Nurse(RN) will provide assessments and interventions to observe, monitor and care for the physical, nutritional, behavioral health and related psychosocial issues, problems or crises manifested in the course of an individual’s treatment; Educating the individual and any identified family about potential medication side effects (especially those which may adversely affect health such as weight gain or loss, blood pressure changes, cardiac abnormalities, development of diabetes or seizures, etc.); Assessing and monitoring individual’s response to medication(s) to determine the need to continue medication and/or to determine the need to refer the individual for a medication review; Consulting with the individual and individual-identified family and significant other(s) about medical, nutritional and other health issues related to the individual’s mental health or substance related issues; * Please note this staff member is not your assigned therapist*

Step Six: Case Assignment Based on results from assessments, psychological & psychiatric testing now we can determine the appropriate level of care and services for you and your family. Therapist and Paraprofessional Once you have been assigned a therapist by our clinical staff he/she will be responsible for providing to you: Individual Counseling Family Outpatient Services Crisis Intervention Group Counseling The Paraprofessional will work in partnership with the therapist to assist you in the following areas below: Psychosocial Rehabilitation(Adults Only) Case Management (Adults Only) Family Training Skills Community Support Services(Children & Adolescents Only) Addictive Disease Support Services (Adults Only)

Intensive Family Intervention (IFI) This program is specifically designed to assist families that have high- risk children and adolescents in the home that has received counseling at a lower level and can benefit from our team of clinicians to visit the family at least three times per week. Clients that are enrolled in this program have been diagnosed with a severe emotional disorder and have either been at risk to be removed from the school, home, community or placed in a inpatient psychiatric treatment facility (PRTF). They present with extreme behaviors such as; threatening to harm themselves or others; setting fires; substance abuse; and oppositional to parents and authority figures. *Please Note* If you are enrolled in IFI services there will be a team leader which is a fully licensed therapist and two paraprofessionals that will visit your home weekly so please be prepared to hear from three new staff members aside from all the testing that has been completed.
