WWII POWERPOINT BY NOAH

By the end of 1938, Austria had fallen into the hands of the Nazis.

In 1939, Poland was invaded by Germany. Despite defending their country, eventually the capital of Poland, Warsaw, fell.

In 1940, both Belgium and France surrendered to Nazi forces. Along with Luxembourg and the Chanel Islands.

In 1940, Germany tried to invade the Soviet Union, but in 1942 was forced to retreat after the Russian victory at the Battle of Stalingrad.

By 1942, almost all of Europe was in the hands of Germany or one of its allies.

Then, in September of 1943, the allies launched an attack on Italy, successfully overwhelming the forces and capturing it all together. After wards, Italian forces were also pushed out of Northern and Eastern Africa, leaving Germany by itself on the European front. SALER NO September 6, 1943

By the spring of 1944, Russia had successfully liberated the Baltic states, Poland, Yugoslavia, and Romania. The US and British forces had also pushed the Italians out of Africa. The Germans now how to fight by themselves on three fronts.

June 6, 1944 will forever go down in history as “D-day”. The allies launched Canadian, British, and American forces onto the Normandy beachhead. Despite the extremely- flawed victory, the Normandy beachhead was secured by the time the sunset on June 6 th, NORMAN DY JUNE 6 th, 1944

By the end of 1944, Germany was losing ground on three fronts. The Russians had gotten to the border of Germany, while France had been liberated by the Britain and America.

May 7 th, 1945, Germany Surrenders to allies. WW2 ends.
