Continental Drift. What is continental drift? 1912 Alfred Wegener Hypothesized that- the continents are moving = Continental drift all continents once.
Continental Drift In 1912, Alfred Wegener developed the theory of continental drift, which states that continents are in constant motion on Earth’s surface.
 At one point in history all continents were combined in one big supercontinent  For some reason the continent split apart and the smaller land masses.

The Theory of Continental Drift. Continental Drift Theory 250 million years ago, all of the continents were combined into one super-continent called “Pangaea”
 This theory was proposed by Alfred Wegener, a German scientist about 100 years ago.  He hypothesized that the continents were not always in the same.

How We Know that Plate Tectonics Exist Evidence: There was Giant Continent that split apart By Diana, Simon and Vincent

How we know there was a Giant Continent: Scientists found the same plants, places and animals in different places When you place the places on a map, they fit together perfectly

The Continents Drifted Apart

Finding the Same Things There are the same coal beds in North America and Asia and they are so far apart There are the same Glossopteris in Africa and Antarctica and it is impossible to grow things in Antarctica when it’s so cold South America and Africa have the same mountain folds
