Open Science Grid Monitoring and Information Services Interoperability Breakout Session Shaowen Wang August 29, 2005 OSG Blueprint Meeting

August 29, 2005 OSG Blueprint Meeting: Open Science Grid and TeraGrid Interoperability – S. Wang 2 Open Science Grid Interoperability with TG Adapt to different capabilities though bridges/gateways –Which VO do we want to use TG? –No direct requirements imposed on each grid –Security and allocation model VOMS Job tracking/monitoring DN and IP address Intermediate needs to know original users TG group accounts Inca is more of monitoring software/service availability –Federation of grids Areas of collaborations –Co-development

August 29, 2005 OSG Blueprint Meeting: Open Science Grid and TeraGrid Interoperability – S. Wang 3 Open Science Grid Interoperability with LCG How to get resource brokers to submit jobs to new USCMS Tier-2 sites? What is the support chain looking like? –How does the map (grid representations from users perspectives) look like? –GUGS ticket system This is working iVDGL VO is not supported We have only agreed to support ATLAS or CMS. LCG has site functional tests –What about OSG?

August 29, 2005 OSG Blueprint Meeting: Open Science Grid and TeraGrid Interoperability – S. Wang 4 Open Science Grid Accounting/Auditing Requirements for Interoperability Accounting/auditing requirements –Does OSG need user accounting? –Does OSG want TG to use OSG resources without being charged? Should we charge, or how do we charge TG users to access OSG VO resources?

August 29, 2005 OSG Blueprint Meeting: Open Science Grid and TeraGrid Interoperability – S. Wang 5 Open Science Grid Monitoring and Information Services – Open Questions How to do translations between different information services? How to prepare job execution environments?
