Low Energy Contemporary Lighting Solutions The Need for Financially Viable Low Energy Lighting Solutions Low Energy Lighting Limited

Fuel costs are ever increasing and will continue to do so and “New Power Stations are not enough to keep the lights on” Low Energy Contemporary Lighting Solutions THE NEED FOR LOW ENERGY LIGHTING SOLUTIONS

It is estimated that due to plant closures and the need to replace and upgrade the UK’s electricity infrastructure, over the next decade the UK electricity sector will need around £110 billion of capital investment. In November 2012, the Government introduced the Energy Bill including Electricity Market Reform (EMR). The purpose of this bill is to deliver secure energy and a low carbon energy future at minimal cost to the taxpayer. It was anticipated that the Bill would be given Royal Assent late Early indications suggest an increase in raw energy prices of between 50-60% in These increases will be in the form of ‘strike prices’ for various elements to support the investment funding. The application of these price increases have not been applied evenly across the various market sectors. Households are exempt and it has also been announced that energy intensive industries will be exempt from the additional charges where they pose a significant risk to UK competitiveness. However, Local Authorities are not exempt and will therefore bear a greater proportion of the cost increases compared to other sectors. An initial high level assessment of the financial implications has been carried out which indicates that energy costs will rise by 40%. Background to ever increasing fuel costs– ELECTRICITY MARKET REFORMS Low Energy Contemporary Lighting Solutions THE NEED FOR LOW ENERGY LIGHTING SOLUTIONS

Fuel costs are ever increasing and will continue to be so and “New Power Stations are not enough to keep the lights on” Alistair Buchanan, Ofgem Chief Executive February 2013 Fuel costs are growing 9.62% faster than the current rate of inflation (3.4%).... Royal Bank of Scotland Research December 2011 “Lighting is essential for carrying out daily business activity but it can account for up to 40% of a company’s total electricity bill.” Carbon Trust “It is time for a revolution in the way people save energy if they are to mitigate their soaring utility bills and keep the lights on” Ofgem February 2013 “Low Energy Lighting solutions can decrease lighting energy costs and carbon emissions by over 50%, equivalent to 20% of the energy bill”. Typically full payback of the investment accrues within 1-2 years and returns of over 4 during the warranty period..... – and often twice that over the designed operating lifetime......everything else you save is money straight to your bottom line.” Low Energy Lighting Limited “A 20% cut in energy costs represents the same bottom line benefit as a 5% increase in sales” Carbon Trust. Financially Viable Low Energy Lighting Solutions– ENERGY SAVING SOLUTIONS Low Energy Contemporary Lighting Solutions THE NEED FOR LOW ENERGY LIGHTING SOLUTIONS

The warranty on solutions guarantees that you will save money, realise a viable payback period, and secure a significant Return on Investment Financially Viable Low Energy Lighting Solutions– A TIME FOR ACTION The need to reduce energy consumption is obvious.
