(21) EZinfo Introduction

(21) EZinfo  A Software that makes data analysis easy  Reveals patterns, trends, groups, outliers and complex relationships in easily interpreted plots  Report in MHT format (for browser and )  Powerful multivariate tools are used for the analysis  Intuitive user interface with rich coloring schemes for intuitive interpretation of results  Customizable for different applications with templates  Easy access from Excel button

(21) What is EZinfo  You have collected data, measuring properties, features, characteristics, etc., on various objects (items, cases), such as people, cars, countries, analytical samples, stocks etc;  The objective maybe an overview, to find out if any observation has any abnormal values, making it atypical, and an outlier. Or, you may want to look at their similarity and dissimilarity. This analysis is descriptive and called PCA  Alternatively, you may want to see if some measurements are related, and if so predict other measurements. The measurements you want to predict are called Y and the others are called X’s. This analysis is called PLS.  Finally you may have collected different types of objects, and you want to understand whether the types are truly different, and if so which measurements make them different. The analysis is called PLS-DA  All these analysis are done automatically and presented graphically

(21) Overview of EZinfo  A software making sense of complex data in an easy way  Three steps, and the information of the data is displayed as a MHT report –1. Import the dataset –2. Select your objective (overview, relationships, classification etc.) –3. Get your results Objectives and model specifications can be saved in a template for later use

(21) Create a new project

(21) Importing the data set Paste the data in an empty spreadsheet, or open a browser to select your file

(21) Analysis  Done automatically in the background  Starts when the project creation and specification is complete  Results in a report that opens automatically  The report contains plots and explaining text in a standard order  Plots can be activated for down drilling, coloring, and customization  Report can customized or update by a template

(21) Solution is displayed as an MHT report All plots are active Report can be customized and saved with as a template

(21) The EZinfo report  Consists of plots and text explaining their interpretation  Plots displaying observations: Maps of the data –Show similarities and dissimilarities between observations; Groups, trends, atypical cases  Plots displaying variables –Provide an understanding of how variables relate to each other  Plots are active; you may –Change their axes –Change the coloring of the plot –Change labels –Drill down to understand differences between observations

(21) Customizing the report and processing of the data  Creating a template: –Specify the name of observations and variables –Objective: Overview, Relationship, or group differences –Specify scaling –Specify transformation  Selecting a template with a new dataset –Objective and model specification are applied –Preprocessing of the data is applied to the new dataset –Uses the names specified for observations and variables  Allows a power user to specify template for an application 1.st time –Followed by routine repetition with new but similar data sets –By her/himself, or others

(21) Plot Tasks: available when you activate a plot Activate a plot by clicking on it. Change the components, color, label Mark observations and drill down to understand differences between observations Exclude marked observation

(21) Create plots from lists and lists from plots Here 2D scatter from the 2 selected columns

(21) Why are observations different from other: Drill down capabilities

(21) Commands available in Report mode 1.Open, Save, Print, Revert 2.Change Model 3.Re-Include observations 4.Import another dataset for prediction 5.Options: Labels, Color, Apply the Prediction set 6.Templates: Apply, Update, Save as

(21) Change Objective: Change the X’s and Y’s, or select a group ID. The model is refitted and report regenerated

(21) Excluding observations Mark the observations, click on the “Exclude” Model is refitted and report regenerated.

(21) Re-Include excluded observations

(21) Importing a new data set for predictions, and applying the prediction set  One or several new datasets can be imported for predictions  Applying the prediction set displays its observations in the report plots alongside the training set.  When your objective is: –Overview of the dataset You can compare the prediction set observations to those of the training set –Relationship between a response and the rest of the variables. You can predict the response value for the new observations –Classification You can classify the new observations

(21) Plots and Spreadsheet: Open several plots or datasets at a time Observations marked in one plot are marked in the other open plots

(21) Customizing the report, and saving it as the template for the application  Report can be customized by: –Selecting new plots –Changing and adding texts to the plots  Formatting tools are available  Save the report as a default template for the current template

(21) EZinfo--Summary  EZinfo is a revolutionary new way to analyze complicated data sets 1.Get the data 2.Specify the objective 3.And view the resulting active report  Will simplify your life  Improves communications and dissemination of knowledge  Improves group efficiency  Promotes teamwork and joint decision making
