Why Early Childhood Matters 10% Return on Investment

Statistics

Public Cost and Benefits

THE ECONOMIC TRUTH IN SEQUENCE If children don’t come to school “ready to learn” and consequently don’t finish school, the public school system fails… If the public school system fails…all of the other public systems are overloaded and fail… the health care system fails, the mental health system fails, the corrections system fails If the public systems fail, the drag on the economy is immense… with less skilled workers, less productivity, higher unemployment, more crime, and higher taxes to pay for higher costs to run the already failing public systems

How to reach Lafayette’s “100% IN...100% OUT” Community Turnaround Plan Through……………

School Readiness Tax Credits (SRTC) Business/Individual Tax Credits for Donations to CCR & R Agencies – R.S. 47:6107 not to exceed over $5, The refundable credit can be taken against individual income tax, corporation tax, or corporation franchise tax

Three Reasons Louisiana Businesses Should Support Child Care Resources: 1.For every dollar up to $5, contributed to Success by 5 Alliance, businesses will receive a dollar-for-dollar refundable credit on their Louisiana State Taxes. 2.Businesses can turn their tax liability into an investment in early care and education. 3.Businesses will have the power to decide where their tax dollars go.

How will the tax credits be used? Implementation of Success by 5 LDE’s proposal Professional development Resource materials and supplies Grant opportunities

We believe Success by 5 Alliance is the piece of the puzzle that will shape the success of our children.
