USPS Rate Changes – May 2010 First-Class Mail – 0% Standard Mail – 0% Periodicals – 0% Parcel Post – 0% “Oct. 15, 2009, Postmaster General John Potter announced that the Postal Service will not seek an increase in prices for First-Class Mail, Standard Mail, Periodicals, Parcel Post and other mailing services.” MailPro November/December 2009 pg. 6
Move Update “Since July 1997, the Postal Service has required that all addresses on mailings receiving discounts for First-Class Mail service, whether Presorted or automation, undergo name and address correction within 185 days of the mailing. The Postal Service offers mailers four approved and two alternative Move Update methods.” Updating Address Lists Is a Smart Move, January 2007.
Move Update Method Ancillary Service Endorsement – Return Service Requested – Address Service Requested Legal Restraint Method – Letter Requesting Authorization. – Valid Legal Statute that restricts address updates. – Process Description (Returned Mail Policy). – Update within 30 days. – Keep documentation for 1 year.
