Fenton volunteer, Curtis Dickens was selected the Volunteer of the Year for Jeff Davis Parish. The other volunteers honored were: Rhonda Poole of Bethel Christian School, Dr. Christopher Achee of Our Lady Immac- ulate School, Phyllis Armstrong of James Ward Elem., Missy Bihm of Welsh-Roanoke Jr. High, Mattie Brassell of Lacassine High, Chrystal Breaux of Lake Arthur Elem., Aquilla Crochet of Elton High, Kristi Davidson of Welsh Elem., Theresa Demmel of Jennings High, Angie Gary of Jennings Elem., Mikka Guidry of Lake Arthur High, Vicki Richard Granger of Hathaway High, and Leonard Troutman of Welsh High. Our congratulations go out to these wonderful people who give of their Precious time to help our schools! Our Volunteer Banquet will be the subject of a presentation at the A+PEL Summer conference July Chapter President Cathy Smith will be speaking about the steps we use from how the volunteers are chosen from each school through the presentation of the trophies on banquet night. It is hoped this will encourage more chapters to find ways to honor their parish’s volunteers. Pres. Cathy will also make a presentation on the program “Fill the Bucket” which she has found very useful at Elton High where she is the counselor. Let’s wish her ‘Luck’!
