Data Optimization Is there still a need for this? If so, what is the priority? How does data optimization tie in with future compensation structures? What are the needs of the NWS for data optimization? How do we develop a system that allows for open participation? How would the data optimization be performed? Who would “activate” flights? What issues would exist within airlines concerning activating individual flights? What is done elsewhere – if anything? What are the next steps that need to be taken?

Data Access Restrictions Who owns the data once it is distributed to NOAA/NWS via ARINC? Who has rights to access the data from the website? What is the data latency from the web-site? How is the data used by NOAA/NWS (WFO level, NCEP etc? How vital is the data to NOAA/NWS at this time? Is this reliance increasing? What are the airline concerns regarding data access? How does de-identification of the information affect these concerns? Where do we want to go in terms of data access rights?

Future Compensation Does the current compensation process “work” for both the government and the airlines. How difficult is MDCRs participation to justify at individual airlines? Do we need to work towards a new compensation structure? Are new compensation means linked to data optimization? Any next steps?

MDCRS Communication/Process Where do we go from here? How should we best communicate? How often should we meet? Do we need any type of agreements or published goals? Are they any new players? How do we prioritize? Who wants to participate? Next meeting or telcon?
