John Kunz: Physics Project Rolling Friction between wheels and a track

Rolling Friction Rolling friction is the friction that occurs between a wheel or colander and a surface. Rolling friction is usually much less then sliding friction. My experiment: cars with different coefficients of friction were driven down a ramp and over a hill. Some of the cars had too much friction and couldn't make it over the hill, while others had too little friction and flew off the hill. The cars that made it successfully were timed.

Finish Start Each test consists of two cars, each on their own track. The cars have their own coefficient of friction assigned to them.

The First Test: The green car was assigned a coefficient of friction of 0.5 The red car was assigned a coefficient of friction of 0.7

The Second Test: The green car was assigned a coefficient of friction of 0.2 The red car was assigned a coefficient of friction of 0.3

The Third Test: The green car was assigned a coefficient of friction of 0.0 The red car was assigned a coefficient of friction of 0.1
