Drawing and Painting Fun (4th) - Pointillism -

POINTILLISM is a painting technique. The artist creates a composition with very small DOTS of colour. Each dot is a pure colour, but from a distance, the dots create new tones and shapes.

Georges Seurat was the father of this painting technique. He loved to play with colour!

Georges Seurat (France, ) This post-impressionist painter experimented with scientific ideas of colour, breaking them down to create optical effects: a “pointillist” technique. In his short life he produced seven monumental paintings and sixty smaller ones. If you want to know more about POINTILLISM, click herehere.
