Weave, Draw-in and Peg Plan Woven Design Weave, Draw-in and Peg Plan

Woven Design Woven fabric design is formed by combination of warp and weft yarns. Warp is represented by draw-in process. Individual warp yarn passes through different shafts in weaving process. Weft is represented by peg-plan. Peg plan determines how the warp opening for weft insertion. Normally, the peg plan remains unchanged. Changing the draw in can creates new design based on the same peg plan.

Modification of Draw-in The peg plan is same (2/2) but the draw in is different. New design can be created by draw in different warp sequence, from point twill to herringbone twill In this example, only four shafts are used but fancy designs can be obtained by different draw-in process.

Draw in sequence The draw in process for the last design was created by 2/2 Z twill, 2/2 warp rib, 2/2 S twill and 2/2 matt. All are formed by simple 2/2 basic twill (peg plan)
