Did You Know? 48 Grants Awarded 48 Families Helped with Real Life

Doing the Right Thing when… An Associate’s spouse desperately needed medication. The insurance coverage maximum was exceeded. Government agencies turned down repeated requests for support because the associates’ “income was too high”. One Company Fund helped.

Resident Care Associate “I thanked God at first that he touched someone to be on my behalf to help me in such an incredible way. I was so excited considering how depressed I was feeling… this was a blessing and relief that someone was there to help me. I appreciate everything! I feel like I am a big part of this company and I plan on remaining loyal to our mission statement and values. I believe in this company!”

Did You Know? 133,000+ Dollars Granted for Real Help for Real Life

Doing the Right Thing when… Associate's self-employed husband (a painter) severely broke his leg at work and per doctors orders was required to be non-weight bearing for at least 3 months. They were always juggling to make ends meat, and now the loss of his income put them in an extremely bad situation. The One Company Fund helped.

Dining Services Associate “You have no idea what it means to me to work for a company that really is there for me – for me and my family. I didn’t think things happened like this. Benchmark really cares.”

Did You Know? 433,000 + Dollars Raised to Do The Right Thing

Doing the Right Thing when… An associate, who is a single mother and sole supporter of her family, experienced a horrible accident resulting in burns over 22% of her body and multiple unsuccessful skin grafts. Local family was unable to support her due to additional family hardship with cancer. One Company Fund helped.

Director of Business Administration “Words cannot express my gratitude to Benchmark and the One Company Fund. I truly appreciate the grant and the financial ability that will now allow for my [loved one] to continue her courageous battle against cancer. I am so grateful to work for this company. I appreciate all of your effort and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Doing the Right Thing when… Associate recently underwent emergency oral surgery and she did not recover as anticipated. She was forced to have a second surgery, which required her to make weekly trips to Tufts Medical Center in Boston to monitor her progress. She is the sole supporter for her 7 year old son and was not able to work for an additional three weeks. One Company Fund helped.

Resident Care Associate “The night I was robbed, I didn’t know what I was going to do. Everything I had was in my wallet. I was carrying everything I had so I could wire the monies for my airline ticket. Without the One Company Fund and Benchmark, I would not have been able to see my daughter graduate from high school.”

Did You Know? 323 Percent of Fundraising Target EXCEEDED at one community. The Atrium at Rocky Hill

Doing the Right Thing when… A single parent working the night shift comes home to find her home in ashes. The home was destroyed by fire that spread throughout the neighborhood. Fortunately, nobody was in the home at the time; everyone was fine…. Unfortunately, they were left with the belongings they had with them at the start of that day. This family had to start over from day one. Unfortunately, they were left with [only] the belongings they had with them at the start of that day. This family had to start over from day one. One Company Fund helped.

Resident Care Associate “Mr. Grape, you touched mine and my children’s lives with the One Company Fund. We now have a real home again and no longer have to live in a motel. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Doing the Right Thing when… An associate of 3 ½ years needed to have much needed hand surgeries in order to continue her job. The amount of her total payments that she owes would barely equal her wages. She had done everything in her power to reduce these costs, but it was still not enough. One Company Fund helped.

Did You Know? 3 Prominent awards received, recognizing the One Company Fund’s mission.

Resident Care Associate “I was so happy to know that there was assistance available and I applied for a One Company grant. When I was told I had been approved, I was very happy – really, really happy and very excited! When we moved from the [ temporary housing we had ] into the house we are living in now, I realized I had forgotten what HOME felt like.”

Doing the Right Thing when… An associate's husband suffered an unexpected stroke, was put on life support and eventually passed away. He was only 45 years of age. At the time of the stroke, he lost his income, did not have any disability insurance and the bills continued to pile up. The associate had very little money to keep up with the household bills and could not manage to have a proper burial for her husband whom passed away so suddenly. One Company Fund helped.

Resident Care Associate “I lay my head down at night and say Thank God for Benchmark. No one knows what it is like until you go through this. Knowing you work at a place that really CARES and show they care is so amazing. Benchmark was there for me at a time of need. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I thank you so much. From the bottom of my heart I thank all of you! BENCHMARK TRULY CARES ABOUT THE ASSOCIATES!”
