Lessons from research The recommendations below set out a Big Society approach to parenting, in which parents are empowered rather than (just) supported. They are organised within five key policy aims: · build the parenting skills base · target parenting support according to need · apply the early intervention principle beyond the early years · make shared parenting a reality · support social networks and collective efficacy THE HOME FRONT Jen Lexmond, Louise Bazalgette, Julia Margo ISBN £10

CREDWCH MEWN PLANT Early Intervention: The Next Steps Graham Allan MP Lessons from research One of two parenting interventions identified by NICE as cost-effective in reducing conduct disorder. The large lifetime costs associated with conduct disorder, estimated to average £75,000 in milder cases to £225,000 in extreme ones, suggest that even a low success rate would constitute good value for money. Incredible Years is listed as one of 19 recommended in the report because of it’s strong evidence base
