Equality means Business

Women and Enterprise: the New Women’s Movement While the feminists of the past fought for the right to vote, education and equal pay for equal work, women now need to become business owners and leaders in order to attain equality and equity. Women of the last two generations are taking a lead in economic affairs, taking on the role of bread winner and are building the momentum to attain true equality. We would like to see also more women in political decision- making and as the heads of large corporations and Trade Unions.

Women and Enterprise: the New Women’s Movement Transformational women leaders may be recognized as those women with a vision of social justice, individually and collectively transforming themselves to use their power, resources and skills in non-oppressive, inclusive structures and processes to mobilize others around a shared agenda of social, cultural economic and political transformation for equality and the realization of human rights for all.

Women’s Empowerment Principles The economic empowerment of women can be the engine to transform and carry forward economies across our Region. There are 7 principles to promote empowerment 1.Leadership promotes Gender Equality 2.Equal opportunity, inclusion and non discrimination 3.Health Safety and Freedom from Violence 4.Education and Training 5.Enterprise development Supply Chain and marketing practices 6.Community leadership and engagement 7.Transparency, measuring and reporting
