Research data curation and preservation in libraries  International practice  data archives and data management centres  research/academic libraries  national libraries  Slovenian experience - relatively new

Digital Preservation Strategy of the National and University Library of Slovenia (NUK)  primarily Legal Deposit archive focus  basis for NUK digital preservation practice and organizational processes definition  will result in guidelines for specific digital preservation aspects

Task under Digital Agenda for Europe – Cultural Heritage Cooperation between libraries, archives and museums – Social Sciences Data Archive (ADP) Digital preservation according to ISO 14721/2003 (2012) Slovenian guidelines for ingest, digital preservation, and access to cultural heritage e-contents

 Coordination problems arising from:  different digital materials types (library materials, archival documents, museum exhibits, research data …)  different legal regulations for archival and library sector  different digital preservation practice (libraries & archives) or non-existence of practice (museums)

Future tasks:  include research data preservation  define digital preservation workflows in different cultural sectors Slovenian guidelines for ingest, digital preservation, and access to cultural heritage e-contents
