Newcastle Safeguarding Adults Board Who do we safeguard? Anyone who: Is aged 18 or over “is or maybe eligible for community care services…”. and Is or maybe unable to take care of themselves or unable to protect themselves from significant harm or serious exploitation

Newcastle Safeguarding Adults Board What do we mean by abuse? Abuse is harm caused by an act or failure to act on the part of another person. It is a violation of a person’s human and civil rights It may be intentional or unintentional It may consist of a single act or repeat acts It may cause harm temporarily or over a period of time.
