Presentation transcript:

By Tuesday and Jessica David Karp, the creator

How to use Tumblr (for people like Jessica): You can post pictures, videos, audio posts and gifs. You can like and reblog pictures, videos, audio posts and gifs from other blogs. You can follow blogs that you like. You can get followers. You can add music to your blogs. You can ask people questions, and you can be anon or not. You can go on Tumblr on your phone or iPod.

How to be safe: Don’t share your personal information with people you don’t know. Don’t follow suspicious blogs. If someone suspicious follows you, block them or ignore them. If someone asks for information, don’t tell them. But if you know them, answer privately. If you are suspicious about a blog, ask them questions and if they seem bad, report them. Don’t put links to your Facebook and things you want to keep personal on your profile.

Negative things about Tumblr: People swear a lot. People post inappropriate things. People can ask you anything. If you put links to your Facebook or Twitter, people can find you. There's an ask and post limit.

Positive things about Tumblr: You can let out your creativity You can follow blogs that post things you like You can post what ever you like You can get spoilers for things you like You can see things (pictures, video, etc…) that you wouldn’t see anywhere else There are gifs (their pretty cool (says Jessica)) PEOPLE DON’T JUDGE YOU!

Who uses Tumblr?: Nerdy people Teenage girls Creepy people Hipsters Creative people Youtube stars Famous people Fashion blogs Musicians Businesses Authors Internet Models ESPECIALLY TUESDAY!

Why do people use Tumblr?: To get their business more famous To sell stuff For fun To let out your creativity To promote things To post about things you like

Why David Karp made Tumblr: He wanted to let people express themselves. He thought Facebook and Twitter were boring, and more like communicating tools. He thought Wordpress was more about writing, and that it didn’t really let you express yourself. So he was going to customize his account, but thought… “Maybe other people are like me?” So he made Tumblr! Click here to watch Video:

Why Tumblr ruins your life: You want to sit at home and reblog stuff ALL DAY! You become obsessed with things you weren't obsessed with before. You try to get a bunch of followers. You end up like Tuesday… ;)
