Preliminaries  Pre-class (10 constructed response points): consider an online article you read recently that you liked. Write at least one complete sentence about what made y0u like it.

Review: Tables  Basic Table Terminology:  Cell  Row  Column  Table Creation  Data Input  Adding and Deleting:  Rows (numbered)  Columns (lettered)  Change borders.  Add shading and font color.  Change the table orientation.

Review: WordArt  Insert WordArt control on drawing toolbar  Artful fonts

Objectives  In today’s lesson, you will learn:  How to insert ClipArt into documents.  How to change the following attributes of ClipArt:  Color  Brightness  Contrast  You will have completed this lesson when you have created a comic strip using at least 3 instances of clip art with 1-sentence text captions beneath or adjacent.

Focus Lesson: Comics  Launch Word.  Divide the sheet into three equal sections with horizontal lines.  Pre-write:  Take 3 minutes to think about a scene (e.g. a party, working in a classroom, activities outside the lunchroom, etc.)  Sketch out 3 pictures you believe will most accurately represent the scene.  Write at least one sentence beneath each picture to describe what you envision happening in it.  Drafting: in each of the three sections, search for corresponding ClipArt objects you sketched in your pre- write and paste them directly into the three sections. Include the sentences
