Multiplication!

ESSENTIAL QUESTION What does multiplication mean, how does it work, and in what ways is it applied to everyday life?

Math- 3 rd Grade TEKS: (3.4) Number, operation and quantitative reasoning: the student recognizes and solves problems in multiplication and division situations. (A) Learn and apply multiplication facts through 12 by 12 using concrete models and objects; (B) Solve and record multiplication problems (up to two digit times one digit); (C) Use models to solve division problems and use number sentences to record the solutions.

Skills to Learn Students will learn how to recall the information at a rapid speed. Students will learn how to apply the basic knowledge to everyday life. Students will learn how the multiplication tables relate to one another.

Bloom’s Taxonomy Knowledge- recall, recite, sequence and reproduce Students will learn to recall the tables, they will recite them, they will put them into sequences, and reproduce the tables orally as well as in written form.

Software Used Stickybear’s Math Town: Offers a self-correcting, drilling method to remember and practice multiplication, as well as addition, subtraction and division. Available in both Spanish and English Six skill levels that advance in difficulty.
