What is a CSR? A step by step guide to helping students be accountable for their learning.

What is a CSR? A CSR is a: – Confidential – Student – Report This is a report from the state of Texas that shares detailed information from their state assessments (End of Course Exam results)

What does it look like?

How do you explain this thing?

Start with the Assessment 1) Let students know which exam results you will be going over.

Look at the date of the exam 2) Tell the student when the exam was taken

How do I know if a student passed? If there is a YES, for LEVEL II, then the student passed. If there is a NO, for LEVEL II, then the student will need to re- test. 3) Let students know if they passed the exam.

What about the scale score? 3500 is the scale score needed to pass Algebra 1, Biology, and US History 3750 is the scale score needed to pass English 1 and English 2 4) Explain the scale score in terms of how close they came to passing or how well they did on the exam

What about the LEVEL 3 scores? Let the student know if they earned a LEVEL 3 advanced performance. A LEVEL 3 score is an indicator of college readiness. 5) Let the student know if they earned a LEVEL 3 advanced scores

How do I explain the reporting categories? Share with students how they did in each reporting category. This is critical to do with students who did not pass because it shows them where they need specific help. EX: Need work with Linear Functions.
