Atlantic Coast Florida’s Atlantic Coast carries many popular tourist destinations. We will be looking at the following: Daytona Beach Smyrna Beach Cape Canaveral Cocoa Beach Port St. Lucie West Palm Beach Fort Lauderdale

Daytona Beach Major Tourist destination for families and racing fans. The hard sand allows for racing on the beach itself. Daytona Beach is also the headquarters of NASCAR, and houses the Daytona International Speedway. It also remains one of the most popular spring break locations.

Smyrna Beach Smyrna Beach is famous for being one of the oldest cities in the United States. Over 30 artifacts are in place to prove this fact. Known as a sleepy town that sees an increase in tourists on the weekends (mostly from residents of nearby Orlando) Also known for its sailing and fishing locations. Hosts many annual music and visual arts festivals.

Cape Canaveral Home to NASA and the Kennedy Space Center. Cape Canaveral is also famous for its lighthouse and the Patrick Air Force Base Starting location of many cruise launches including Disney Cruise Lines.

Cocoa Beach One of the more affordable beach resort towns in Florida. Eco-tours are offered here which provide a look at Florida’s vast wildlife. Also known as the jazz district of Florida.

Port St. Lucie Seen as more of an ocean escape. Port St. Lucie offers warm breezes, lots of sunshine and a relaxing atmosphere. Home to PGA village and many golf courses. Being a port city also makes it ideal for fishing and sailing.

West Palm Beach Known as a more glamorous and pricy tourist destination. Location of summer homes to some of the most famous Americans (Kennedys, Rockefellers, Pulitzers) Streets are lined with palm trees to give the ultimate exotic feel.
