Lecture 3: Group Application Exercise This lecture was originally prepared by Dr. Kari Watkins, Georgia Institute of Technology; Dr. Jeff LaMondia, Auburn University; and Candace Brakewood, Georgia Institute of Technology as part of the STRIDE project Developing a New Course for Public Transportation Education ( S).

Transit Planning, Design & Operations Putting Our Learning Into Practice… In an urban environment, we simply do not have enough space to travel individually in cars. Many different technologies exist, but technology should be the last decision not the first. Proper planning, design and operations are necessary. Transit must be given the highest possible ROW category to ensure personal mobility rather than vehicular mobility.

Transit Planning, Design & Operations Consider Teton County, WY

Transit Planning, Design & Operations Some Facts Over 18,000 residents, 7,000 households Over 400 square miles in size – Majority of development around Jackson Contains – affluent Jackson Hole Skiing area – Grand Teton National Park – Yellowstone National Park It has the highest personal per capita income in the US! Most residents are very outdoorsy
