Characteristics The great white shark is a fish and is cold blooded. They are vertebrates. They can be 20 feet wide and 3,000 pounds. Unlike games sharks don’t be sent to hunt people.

Habitat They live in temperate oceans. They mainly live on the coast of North America and south Africa. They also live in the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans. They live near islands, coasts, reefs, etc.

Food They are carnivores. It tears up meat then swallows it. It eats tuna, salmon, squid and herring. They also eat seals, sea lions, dolphins and penguins.

Fun Facts A great white’s teeth was used to make arrow heads. A great white shark pokes its head out to sniff prey. People from the Pacific Islands used to make razor blades from the teeth of the great white shark. All are capable of eating sea lions whole. In two years they can eat 22 tons of food.
