Legal capacity - Croatia -Most persons deprived of legal capacity at the age of 18 -No right to decide about themselves - Guardian makes decisions

Deprived of legal capacity cannot: -vote, -establish an association or be a member of an association, -sign contracts, -work for money - manage money -get married without approval from the guardian and the court, -decide whom you will live with, -decide where you will live.

Live in the community means: - to make choices, to decide - to go to regular schools - to have my pocket money - to have a fairly payed job - to not be discriminated - to receive but also give support - to have friends and go out with them - to have hobbies - to have a home chosen by me

Barriers for community living: -lack of support and personal assistants -lack of easy to understand information (newspapers, public institutions) -lack of access to education -lack of opportunities for employment -lack of community service providers -attitude of society towards people with disabilities

Barriers for community living: -lack of support for starting a family, having kids -lack of support for families with children with disabilities -lack of access to health service -disability is not a priority for politicians -lack of physical accessibility -lack of access to justice

Zaključak: Diskriminacija i nepristupačnost Nedostatak obrazovanja Nema novaca, samostalnosti, nema osjećaja korisnosti u društvu nema obiteljskog života, nema prijatelja siromašan život.

Conclusion: Discrimination and inaccessibility lack of education no jobs no money, dependence, not feeling useful to society no family life, no friends poor life

WE WANT A BETTER LIFE!
