CREATE YOUR PRESENCE Having the ability to successfully give a presentation is not as rare as one would believe. Don’t believe it ? Read on…

THE SECRET? All you have to do is learn to sell your self to the world around you!

PRESENTATION IS ABOUT... Those of you who have made a sales presentation know that one of the most crucial steps in attracting your audience is not what you present, but rather, the way you present it. Presentations are not only about putting together words and repeating them to your audience. They are about conveying your message to your audience, in a manner that is effective and persuasive. To succeed in a presentation you have to make sure your overall appearance makes as much an impact as your words. All you need to have, is the knowledge to create and enhance the skill God has given to every human-the skill to effectively communicate with others. The following paragraphs will tell you how you can communicate effectively with your audience...

1. THE OBJECTIVE The basis of a presentation is not to present yourself, rather to present your “idea”. Whatever the case, it all boils down to the same basic objective: we aim to make the audience aware of an alternate solution to their dilemma and persuade them that the solution we are offering is the only alternative. So don’t beat around the bush. Come straight to the point. Use focus to catch your audience’s attention.

2. THE PRESENTATION What you begin with determines your audience’s interest. Whether it is a political issue, a business plan or a psychological case study- always create interest within the first few minutes of your presentation. Make your audience a part of the issue. Your ability to retain their attention throughout the presentation will depend on these very few minutes.

Introduce the topic. Don’t just throw it at the audience. That may be effective at grabbing attention but a bit of background information on the subject is also necessary. Never assume that the audience will know the topic, even if they are professionals in the field. Educate them with background information.

Speak at the level of your audience’s comprehension. It would be a useless effort to try to explain a complicated topic with sophisticated English, when the audience can only understand layman’s language. There are tricks to gauge your audience, use it.

Organize your topic in such a way that one point leads to another. Don’t rush. Let the topic flow as it does in the audience’s thought process.

Summarize your points after delivering them. Let your points sink in, and create retention.

3. THE CONCLUSION Climax. Whatever the climax, it should be effective so as to bring satisfaction to your audience. Make them feel worth the wait.

Gracefully wrap up your presentation. When the objective is achieved, do not drone on.

Motivate to take action. Make an impression! Inspire and motivate your audience to take action. Without action, the purpose of your presentation would be lost! MORE... Want more?
