About me Master of Political Science, Åbo Akademi University Project Manager Employed by the FFVI since January 2009 Federation of the Swedish speaking Visually Impaired in Finland (FSVIF), Information Manager, Celia Library, short periods between 2005 and 2006

Celia and the FFVI Key organizations on the disability field in Finland Both members of the Finnish DAISY Consortium The FFVI - A special service provider - Advocate of the interests of the visually impaired people in Finland - Offers, for example, rehabilitation, IT training, technical aids - Produces newspapers and magazines into digital format Celia - A library specialized on material in accessible format - For example, Braille, electronic books and talking books - Has approx DAISY titles - On-demand lending since 2006

Purpose of the project To improve the access to information To offer online services to more people To offer a non-computer based option To offer an easy option To create a basis for a national online delivery system

Target groups Primary target groups: - Clients who don’t use a computer - Active clients of Celia A total of 960 of Celia’s clients will be chosen for the project First stage test group (approx. 100 persons) from the capital region Clients will be chosen from specific regions Regions were selected based on their special conditions

Target regions Target regions: - South-Eastern Finland, largest cities Kouvola, Lappeenranta, Imatra and Kotka - Southern Savonia, largest cities Mikkeli and Savonlinna - Northern Karelia, largest city Joensuu - Päijänne Tavastia, largest city Lahti - Capital region, largest cities Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa
