ICAM Infrastructure Modernization Statement of Work May 2013

■ ■ Project Name: ICAM Infrastructure – –POP A refers to Ames Research Center (ARC) ■ ■ Key Personnel – –NCS Engineering: – –Description of Project » »Design, procure, and implement a complete new infrastructure environment for ICAM (IdMAX, NED, SiteMinder) 1 Project Overview

3 Project Objectives O-1Design a new infrastructure configuration for NCS managed ICAM IDMAX, NED, OpenSSO infrastructure O-2Align the design with current NCS service/hardware/OS/vendor skill set and knowledgebase. O-3Establish West Coast Point of Presence (POP A) O-4Migrate ICAM environment from Oracle hardware/Solaris to Cisco UCS/Red Hat Virtual Servers. O-5 O-6 O-7

4 Technical Requirements T-1New ICAM virtual servers will be Red Hat 6.x. T-2Align the design with current NCS service/hardware/OS/vendor skill set and knowledgebase. T-3Virtual server environments will use the VMware ESX hypervisor. T-4POP A reference architecture will connect to network infrastructure. T-5Design must support Geographic and application load balancing. T-6POP A design will support local backups of application virtual servers. T-7POP A design will comply with network and SAN physical “demark” requirements. T-8POP A architecture will be fault tolerant and highly available. T-9POP A architecture will backup up ICAM Virtual servers using vRanger. T-10POP A architecture will be managed by NCS Operations via VPN using UCS Manager and Vmware vCenter. T-11POP A architecture will be monitored by WUG and patched via YUM.

New Infrastructure Architecture Overview ■ Compute Hardware (POP A) –UCS »2 Fabric Interconnects »2 chassis »4 Blades (2 per chassis) ■ Dual 8 core cpu’s per blade ■ 384 GB RAM per blade ■ Vic1240 Interface Card ■ Nexus 1000V »2 Management blades (1 per chassis) or Vblock AMP (management pod) ■ Dual 8 core cpu’s per blade ■ 128 GB RAM per blade ■ Vic 1240 cards ■ 900GB usable internal disks ■ Nexus 1000V –Private Production Virtual servers will be housed on ARC UCS ARCL1 Cluster. –Public Production Virtual servers will be housed on ARC UCS ARCLPUB Cluster.

New Infrastructure Architecture Overview ■ OS and Virtualization – ESX 5.1 »New ARC Virtual Center »Standard NCS processes –RHEL 6 »ICAM M application servers –Windows »SQL Database for vCenter

New Infrastructure Architecture Overview ■ Storage, SAN, and Backups –POP A »Dual Fabric Cisco MDS SAN »XXX Storage Array ■ 30 TB Useable Storage ■ 8Gbps Fiber Channel »YYY NAS Backup Storage ■ 7TB useable ■ With Dedup and compression – 70 TB backup capacity ■ NFS mount to vRanger (NAS)

ICAM M Proposed Physical Architecture

Growth Expectations ■ ■ The ICAM M infrastructure is designed to support future capacity requirements (Storage, Compute, Backup). – –~ 30 TB storage capacity – –~70 TB front end backup capacity – –Compute growth capacity available after all builds complete.
