ANGLER FISH BY HUNTER NORTHERN, JARED DICKEY

MY NAMES  I am commonly called black devil  My scientific name is Melanocetus johnsi

LOCATION  I am found around the northern Atlantic oceans and artic oceans

MY PHYSICAL TRAITS  I have a round body with a large mouth and large fang like teeth.  I grow only to about five inches long.  I vary in color from black to dark brown.  I have an illuminated lure attached to my head filled with bioluminescent bacteria that I use to lure prey.

WHAT I EAT  I eat fish squid anything that can fit in my mouth.

AM I ENDANGERED  I have no predators.  I am not endangered :D

TAKE A LOOK AT ME  mating  my lure

MY ADAPTATIONS  I can open my mouth wider than me to eat food bigger than me so I can store food.  I can expand my stomach to large amounts so I can store food when it is scarce.

WEIRD THINGS ABOUT ME  I can live 30+ years.  Females are only about 5-6 inches long  Males are only about 1-3 inches long
