Living in the local church: Church for generations September 2, 2012
Paul’s letter to the church of generations 1Tim 3:14 Although I hope to come to you soon, I am writing you these instructions so that, 15 if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth. 2 Tim 2:2 And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.

Who is Timothy? Acts 16:1 He came to Derbe and then to Lystra, where a disciple named Timothy lived, whose mother was a Jewess and a believer, but whose father was a Greek. 2 The brothers at Lystra and Iconium spoke well of him. 2 Tim 1:5 I have been reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also. 1 Cor 16:10 If Timothy comes, see to it that he has nothing to fear while he is with you. Phil 2:20 I have no one else like him, who takes a genuine interest in your welfare. 21 For everyone looks out for his own interests, not those of Jesus Christ. Heb 13:23 I want you to know that our brother Timothy has been released. Young, faithful, timid, unselfish, caring, loyal, persevere.
Church for generations 1Tim 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our hope, 2 To Timothy my true son in the faith: Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. God’s salvation through Jesus yesterday, today and tomorrow. Paul, Timothy, you and I are appointed to teach the gospel in true relationship and build the local church for generations
