Section 2 Be able to describe the movement of energy during an earthquake. Describe the different types of seismic waves. Be able to name and compare the various scales used to measure the strength of an earthquake. Know the vocabulary words for Section 2.

Section 3 Understand and be able to discuss how earthquakes cause damage. Be able to discuss how earthquake hazards can be reduced. Know the vocabulary words for Section 3.
