What is RYLA? Intensive training program for year olds. To develop character & leadership and to learn about Rotary 3-10 days in length (D9680 – 7 days) Opportunity to: build self confidence Gain exposure to a variety of issues To gain career skills To meet active community leaders

1959 Created as a festival of youth in QLD in honour of a Royal visit 1971 Recognised as an official Program of Rotary International District 9680 has a District Committee Held in January of each year candidates The Campsite is at Elanora Heights Many RYLA participants go on to Rotaract & Rotary

RYLA Objectives To demonstrate Rotary’s respect and concern for youth To encourage and assist young people in responsible and effective voluntary youth leadership by providing them with a valuable training experience To foster continued and stronger leadership of youth by youth To publicly recognize the many young people who are rendering service to their communities as youth leaders
