The Miwok A California Native American by Jada Bailys

The Miwok Region  They lived in a hot and humid tropical island in the pacific ocean. They lived close to the beaches and bays. Many thing make the Miwok unique from other native American tribes such as the homes the food they eat the jobs they had to do and the clothing they wary

The Miwoks homes They built these homes over pits and used poles as a farm work. They covered the frames with brushed leaves using tools.

The Miwok food They fished and gathered their food like kelp and sea food such as mussels. They used nets and bone hooks to catch their food They used bone and crabs to shoot birds. They ate a lot of acorns. They roasted grasshoppers and seeds as well.

The Miwok Jobs  The men cut down the trees to make the family homes. The women made clothes for the children.

The Miwok Clothing  Do you know what the Miwok wore? The Miwok wore their robes in the cold. They used rabbit fur for blankets. They also made dresses out deer skin.

Miwok Celebrations  Do you know what celebrations the Miwoks had? They had grizzly bear ceremonies. They also held ceremonies every time someone died. They would lay the dead in the coffins.
