Why study Spanish? Espanol I Senorita Hodge ¿Por qué estudiar español?

Today, many students only take the foreign language course of Spanish as it is required for their graduation. However, there are many more advantages that one can gain from taking such a course.

jug fry Spanish is a growing language. It is stated that, in 2011, over 35 million Americans speak this language fluently. This number, however, is constantly increasing. 35 Million

François Italian Learning Spanish makes learning other languages easier. German Russian Example Ejemple Esempio Exemple

Learning a new language always broadens your horizons. It allows you to fully understand and grasp the ideas of those who speak it. This now enables one to have better access to their literature and other art forms such as music and entertainment.

Without communication, friendships cannot be made. If you break this barrier by learning the now diversely spread language of Spanish, this is now possible. With this new social opportunity, one can then socialize with the numerous Hispanic citizens that reside around them – in their neighborhoods and workplaces. “Communication--the human connection--is the key to personal and career success.” - Paul J. Meyer

Thinking about vacationing in Mexico or even visiting a fellow Hispanic country? Want to venture away from the large crowds of tourists and see attractions and towns that are not on the usual tour guide’s destination list? Would you like to hold and enjoy a conversation with the locals of the country? If so, then learning Spanish is the easiest and most effective way to truly get that rare experience.

More Job Opportunities Knowing another language, especially one as universal as Spanish, can help one obtain jobs that are not usually on the market for those who do not. TranslatorSpanish Teacher/Educator

Knowing the Spanish language also enables one to find work in a larger range of areas.

Better chance of obtaining a job Being bilingual or even multilingual, enhances your chances of getting hired as this is a skill that is often required or greatly assists one in the various career fields.

Living on the beautiful, tourism funded Virgin Islands, gives us the rare opportunity of meeting people of different races and ethnicities every day. It is because of this that we should make an effort to aid in the industry that makes our islands strive. By knowing a language as universal as Spanish, it is beneficial for our islands to make our visitors feel welcome and invited.

The Virgin Islands are surrounded by several Spanish speaking countries including Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. It is because of this, that we must make an attempt to welcome and familiarize ourselves with the immigrants that come to enjoy America’s Caribbean for trade and business purposes.
