What is a Haiku? Haiku is the most important form of Japanese poetry. Haiku is the most important form of Japanese poetry. Haiku is a very short poem, made up of only THREE LINES. Haiku is a very short poem, made up of only THREE LINES.

Most haiku have 17 syllables. Most haiku have 17 syllables. The first line has five. Seven in the second line. Five left for line three. …that was a haiku. …it’s just that easy.
