Art in Ancient China. Simone Ledoux.

Art in Ancient China. The Chinese were interested in swirling their brush while they were painting, to make lines. New ideas for artwork came from Central Asia, India and West Asia.

Art in Ancient China. Then people started making decorative pots. Bronze jars started to become more popular during the Shang dynasty. They would decorate them with dragons and elephants. They were also influenced by Taoism and Confucianism. They started to paint one thing, like one flower. Instead a whole field of flowers.

Art in Ancient China. People in the Chou Dynasty started using lacquered boxes, to paint, and people also started to paint whole landscapes, and painting people on silk.

Art in Ancient China. Then later in the Han Dynasty, when people started to learn about Buddhism, they also learned Buddhist styles of art. This had a big affect on sculptors, they started making life-sized stone statues. This also had an affect on traders of the Silk Road, they started to blow glass. And then they started painting on paper.

Art in Ancient China. Art got more important by the time of the Three Kingdoms. They still used the style of swirling their paintbrush to make striking lines in their paintings. Then people started using green and blue paint to paint people, horses, and landscapes.

Art in Ancient China. When the Mongol Invasion happened it brought new energy and enthusiasm to painting. They would use a lot of different materials like, medal, bronze, jade, silk, clay, and cloth.
