Don’t Lose Control By H Hounchell

Backround Information Created on February 8, 2008 by the NSPCC to show that domestic violence and “losing control” is a serious issue.

How does the image appeal to logos? The logical appeal is that abusing a child is wrong. Children can not defend for themselves and should be loved and nourished not beaten.

How does the image appeal to ethos? The advertisement appeals to ethics by showing it was created by a credible source such at the NSPCC. This makes the audience respect the ad, making it more believable.

How does the image appeal to pathos? The blood on the baby bib appeals to emotions because the fact that an innocent child has been abused, in some way, makes the audience feel sympathy.

Point-of-view? The image is from the pov of people who want child abuse to stop to the intended audience being someone who have ever witnessed or experienced child abuse

What is the focal point? The focal point of the image would be the splattered blood on the baby bib. That’s the part of the image that draws your attention because the dark blood contrasts the light blue and pink.
