Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leader Course MODULE 4 AN/PRC-117F LOS FIXED FREQUENCY OPERATION

Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leader Course LOS Fixed Frequency Operation Objectives: –Program the AN/PRC-117F for LOS Fixed Frequency operation. Plain text nets Cipher text nets Voice or Data operation –Operate the AN/PRC-117F as a station in a LOS Fixed Frequency Net. LOS Fixed Frequency Nets

Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leader Course LOS Fixed Frequency Operation LOS Fixed Frequency Nets allow the user to receive and transmit voice and/or data using fixed receive and transmit frequencies. –30 MHz MHz VHF-Low Band, FM only VINSON COMSEC, voice or data using FM KG-84, DATA only, FM or TCM –90 MHz MHz VHF-High Band and 225 MHz MHz UHF Band VINSON, voice or data using AM or FM Fascinator COMSEC, FM Modulation, Voice mode only KG-84 Encryption for DATA only, AM, FM, TCM LOS Fixed Frequency Nets

Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leader Course LOS Fixed Frequency Operation Up to 100 nets can be programmed into the radio. Net names consist of 12 alphanumeric characters. –Spaces not allowed. –Default names for each net is NET##, where ## represents a number 00 to 99. Each net can be enabled or disabled during programming at the ACTIVATE IN LIST? Prompt. –Choosing NO makes net inaccessible with PRE+/- button. It is callable by entering the channel number. Type of net must be selected before the net is programmed: –LOS Fixed Frequency Net –Dedicated UHF SATCOM Net –Frequency Hopping Net, SINCGARS or HAVE QUICK AN/PRC-117F Net Programming Considerations
