 Create a drawing using your choice board drawing media that incorporates your name in a way that both uses your interests and the Principles of Design.  Pencil, Ebony Pencil, Chalk, Marker, Pen, Charcoal, Colored Pencil, and Oil Pastel.  You must you both the letters of your name and at least 5 Principles of Design.

 In what ways do graphic designers get your attention when you look at product packaging?  Choose 3 of your favorite products and compare how they use at least 3 Principles of Design in a graphic organizer of your choice.  Contrast them as well by explaining the differences in the same graphic organizer.

 First make a list of things you love to do, eat, visit, smell, etc.  Next draw your name using any alphabet font you want.  Rearrange your letters so that the letters are really big, spaced over your page symmetrically, asymmetrically, or radially.  (Review balance)

 Choose 5 Principles of design to fill in both positive and negative space in your drawing using the things you listed first that you like.  Questions:  Can you make patterns with the shapes of the things you enjoy?  Can you create contrasts with colors or textures?  Can you create a focal point using some of the designs you come up with?

 Questions:  Can you create rhythm and movement by making you objects ‘move’within the space?  How can you bring it all together?  Create a thumbnail sketch of your combined ideas.

 Make your thumbnail sketch bigger and test out different media to see which is the best fit for you!  Remember to write down your thoughts and selections.

 Put your ideas together and get the good drawing paper to complete the finished work of art!  Remember, at any point you can review your choices and change the draft!!

 What worked really well in this drawing?  What did you enjoy the most?  What would you change?  Score yourself on the rubric and write your reflection in the ERQ!
